Why Do I Study the Bible?

In a world filled with information and distractions, it's easy to chose other tasks to focus on; but I decided to dedicate time to reading the Bible.


For me, the scriptures are not just ancient texts but a living guide that shapes my understanding of God, His love, and His plans for humanity.


Through the Bible, I discover a deep understanding of God - Author, learn about the depths of His love and the salvation He offers, gain practical wisdom on how to live a righteous life, and find peace in the assurance of His promises for the future.


Moreover, the spiritual wealth I acquire from this study enriches my life in ways that transcend material gains, providing me with a sense of peace, purpose, and enduring joy. But why is understanding the author, God, so important to me?

Studying the Bible is like diving into an ocean of wisdom and wonder, where each wave reveals more about God, the ultimate Author. Imagine reading a book where you not only get to know the characters but also the writer intimately. That’s what Bible study is for me!

I Study the Bible to Learn about His love and Salvation

What does that mean? Deliverance from sin and its consequences, believed by Christians to be brought about by faith in Christ.


When I flip through the pages of the Bible, I’m constantly amazed at the stories of love and redemption that leap out at me. It’s like a love letter written across centuries, detailing how God’s love knows no bounds and how He went to unimaginable lengths to offer us salvation.


From the sacrificial love in the Old Testament to the ultimate act of love in the New Testament—Jesus’ death and resurrection—it’s a narrative that fills me with hope and gratitude.


Each story, each parable, is a reminder that I am loved beyond measure and that salvation is a gift available to everyone. It’s not just about knowing these truths; it’s about feeling them deep within my soul.



I Study the Bible to Learn How to Live

The Bible isn’t just an ancient text; it’s a living guidebook for navigating the complexities of life today.


Studying it provides me with practical wisdom and moral guidance on how to live a life of integrity, kindness, and purpose. It’s like having a GPS for life’s journey, offering directions and detours, so I don’t lose my way.

It’s empowering to know that I can turn to the Bible for advice on anything from relationships to personal growth, making my path clearer and more fulfilling.

Until it actually happens we cannot be certain BUT one thing we can be sure of is that God spoke it.


It’s a treasure of cultural, historical, and literary riches that enrich my understanding of the world and my place in it.


Each study session is like unlocking ancient artifacts, revealing the depth and beauty of human history and God's intervention. The narratives, poetry, and wisdom literature are a source of endless fascination and joy.


It’s a journey of discovery that continually renews my mind and spirit, offering me a rich, fulfilling experience that goes beyond mere knowledge.


This wealth is not measured in material terms but in the profound sense of purpose, peace, and joy that comes from a deeper connection with God and His Word.
